Are You the Right Example?

None of us are perfect, but we have to understand that our daily behavior has a huge influence on the people we love. If you want to influence others, you have to start with yourself. Here are three steps that will help you become a better example.


1. Change Your Environment


If you have a clear fitness goal, focus only on that. For a while, it's better to avoid friends who have a completely different lifestyle and might tempt you. You don't have to stop being friends with them forever, but to achieve your goals, it's important to create an environment that supports you, not the opposite.



2. Learn to Say "No"


Most of the time, you need to be able to say "no" to yourself. If your significant other suggests going out to a restaurant or buying pizza, try suggesting, "Let's go for a walk instead." For a while, be the "No" person. Sometimes, saying "no" has more power than saying "yes." Plan your weekends to be full of activities that move you toward your goal.


3. Have "Tunnel Vision"


Wrap yourself in your bubble and have "tunnel vision"—focus solely on your goals. You'll see that if your friends and family truly love you, they will understand and support you. Once you reach your goals, you'll have valuable experience that you can share to inspire others. This way, you will become an inspiration for others.
